I used to have one of the original Vermont versions of this cart which was terrific, but I didn't want to spend that much this time around.
This cart went together quite easily. Some people have mentioned that holes didn't line up well-- if you leave all nuts and bolts loose until they're ALL in place, you'll have some play to get things to line up. Then tighten everything.
The removable end to the cart's bed is an improvement over my old cart, making it easy to dump yard waste.
I'd suggest buying some flat washers to put under the heads of the bolts to keep them from sinking into the plywood sides when they're tightened.
I downgraded this from 5 to 4 for two reasons:
1)I'd rather see semi pneumatic or solid tires to the pneumatic which could go flat
2)I'd rather see a permanent galvanized finish on the handle and legs instead of the paint which can chip, allowing rust.
Overall, a good value and a very useful garden tool.

I was disapointed in the assembly. The supporting leg was not predrilled properly. I was prepared from other reviews that I needed to supply washers for the inside of the cart but again disapointing that the washers were not supplied. On the good side, the cart seems to be just what I need.

Comments about Great Plains 7-Cubic Foot Wood Garden Cart:

I have had this type of garden cart for over 30 years. I'm sure, because people complained about the cart "tipping" if loaded improperly, the wheel was moved forward. The cart no longer tips, but in moving this "folcrum", the entire weight of the cart and contents now has to be lifted. ...very bad move. I find this design very difficult to manage.

Comments about Great Plains 7-Cubic Foot Wood Garden Cart:

This is our third garden way cart. We really like them. But upon finishing putting this one together the tire wouldn't hold air. So had to take it to our local bike shop to have a tube put in, so in turn it did cost us an additional $10 to get it going.

Comments about Great Plains 7-Cubic Foot Wood Garden Cart:

The cart arrived in a timely fashion, all of the parts were there although the box had a rip in it. Two of us put it together in less than an hour. Two things about the design that could be improved: one is that the wheels seem too forward on the card which causes the user to have less of a fulcrum therefore they have to lift more weight, and two, the bolts near the hub of the wheel stick out too much and the wheel hits them=--we had to cut them off. Also, there is a hole in the handle and I don't know what it is for.
