I absolutely love my potting bench although I use mine as a BBQ/serving table. I have put a bowl in the hole and a container of water near by to wash my hands while cooking. I put the salad bowl there when serving. Salt, pepper, etc. just fit in the accessory box on the side. Every thing I need to cook and serve is at my finger tips. The one thing I added was wheels so it is easier to use in this capacity.

I was looking to replace a work bench I had used for re-potting plants in our large container garden on a 5th floor outdoor terrace. [...] all parts were complete and fit together perfectly. However, the pictures were small and not very clear, and some referred to an earlier version, so my husband put some pieces on backwards and had to re-assemble them. It's great that the wood came already stained, though there was no mention of this. [...]The wood is beautiful, and the bench offers a large work space at a perfect height. Two of us were able easily to move it outside after assembly. The recessed bucket is useful for holding dirt temporarily.I chose this bench because it was the only well-rated one that offered a drawer where I can store my trowel, gloves, etc. Unfortunately, the drawer filled with water during the first rain. The other parts of the accessory kit also have limited usefulness if you will be using the banch in an uncovered area outdoors where it sometimes rains. (I ended up turning the accessory box upside down over my gloves and hand tools for overnight storage.) I also find that any spilled dirt falls into the creases of the bench's surface, so that it requires a little extra effort to clean.I would recommend the bench to someone who lived in a very dry climate or who wanted to use it in a covered area, or whose purpose is decorative or entertaining. Otherwise, save your money and don't order the accessory kit.

It's wonderful to have all my potting supplies in one place and at the right height to eliminate bending over. Now that I have a bad back this is very important.
